Type Geek Lanyard: a Silky Soft Set of Rulers

15.00

This handsome, silky fabric lanyard contains all the resources a type geek or designer needs: three rulers (inches, centimeters, and picas), a type gauge for Helvetica and Garamond, a leading gauge, and common measurement unit and fraction to decimal conversions.

A metal keyring with a metal clip hangs at the end of the lanyard, with a plastic quick-release clip that lets you detach a badge or keycard for access without removing the lanyard.

The rulers for inches, centimeters, and picas have division markings for 1/8th inch, 5mm, and 2 points. The length of the rulers are 18 inches, 108 picas, and 45.5 cm. The rulers are accurate to within about 3/16th of an inch when laid down slack, but the measurements are nearly exact when held taut.

The lanyards are made to order by Buttonsmith, an employee-owned unionized American manufacturer, which uses US-made materials to print and assemble products in their factory in Carnation, Washington. (See the product photos for a shot I took of their heat-sealing machine!) Lanyards come with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
